Emergency Preparedness and Radiological Protection(EP&RP) Manager

  • The manager are responsible for oversights of the following divisions:

    1. Radiological Protection Division

    2. Emergency Preparedness Division

    3. Environmental Monitoring & Studies Division

    4. Occupational Safety Division

 

Radiological Protection Division (RPD)

  • ​The RPD staff are responsible for:

  1. Prepares the required program and procedures such as radiological protection program; these procedures should be properly reviewed by the Emergency Preparedness & Radiological Protection Manager and shall be applied to all activities and personnel in the reactor facilities.

  2. Provides trainings, and developing Radiological Protection Courses.

  3. Follow up reports related to the Radiological Protection for the JRTR.

  4. Cooperates with Research and Information Laboratories team at JAEC for dosimetry services and evaluation during usual operation and accident situation of JRTR.

  5. Operates the Health Physics room.

  6. Any duties or responsibilities required by the interest of work and terms of the radiation field.

 

Emergency Preparedness Division (EPD)

  • The EPD staff are responsible for:

  1. Prepares and maintains the required documents such as Radiological Emergency Plan and Procedures; these documents should be properly reviewed by the Emergency Preparedness and Radiological Protection manager and shall be applied to all activities and personnel in the reactor facilities.

  2. Provides trainings, and developing and evaluating exercises and drills to determine JRTR Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and non-ERO personnel readiness.

  3. Maintains emergency response facilities and equipment.

  4. Develops and maintains liaisons with off-site stakeholders to facilitate plan development, response effort coordination, and exchanges of personnel and equipment.

  5. Provide critical technical information and recommendations to executive management in the event of a radiological emergency.

  6. Any duties or responsibilities required by the interest of work and terms of the radiation field.

 

Environmental Monitoring & Studies Division (EMD)

  • The EMD staff are responsible for:

  1. Prepares the required procedures; these procedures should be properly reviewed by the Emergency Preparedness & Radiological Protection Manager and shall be applied to all activities and personnel in the reactor facilities.

  2. Environmental planning, monitoring, analyzing and reporting on the environment

  3. It runs special computer codes to study emissions from the JRTR to assess radiation dose to the public and to track the plume movement and dispersion in the atmosphere.

  4. It shall be responsible of the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports and

    documentation for the JRTR.

  5. It shall follow up the environmental and Metrological data and reports for the JRTR with the relevant stakeholders.

  6. Monitors the changes in environmental trends to detect early warning.

  7. It shall follow up the studies and reports related to the environment for the JRTR.

  8. Cooperates with environment group of JAEC for environmental monitoring and evaluation during usual operation and accident situation of JRTR.

  9. Any duties or responsibilities required by the interest of work and terms of the radiation field.

 

Occupational Safety Division (OSD)

  • The OSD staff are responsible for:

  1. Ensure that all health and safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.

  2. Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessment for all work equipment and operations.

  3. Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented.

  4. Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections are managed and employees are aware of their responsibilities.

  5. Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health.

  6. Provides trainings, and developing and evaluating exercises and drills to determine JRTR preparedness for emergency.

  7. Prepares and maintains the required documents such as Fire Protection Program, Fire Hazard Analysis and all needed Procedures; these documents should be properly reviewed by the Emergency Preparedness & Radiological Protection Manager and shall be applied to all activities and personnel in the reactor facilities.

  8. Investigate accidents that have occurred within incident areas and prepare the report.

  9. Examine workplace conditions to make sure they conform to applicable safety standards.

  10. Any duties or responsibilities required by the interest of work and terms of the radiation field.
