The Jordan Research and Training Reactor (JRTR)
represented by the Maintenance Directorate, hosted a delegation of maintenance staff from the International Center for Synchrotron-light for Experimental Science and Applications in the Middle East (SESAME) for a scientific field visit to the reactor facilities.
This visit aimed to familiarize the members with the maintenance systems in place at the research reactor and the technical capabilities of its various maintenance programs. The visiting delegation was briefed on the key role played by the Maintenance Directorate, including periodic inspections and testing of reactor systems in accordance with the highest local and international standards and regulations.
The Director of the JNRTR, Dr. Majd Al-Hawari, emphasized the importance of joint cooperation between national institutions involved in scientific research. The visit program included a field tour of the reactor facilities, where the members learned about the various current applications of the research reactor in the field of peaceful nuclear energy.
