Operational Laboratories

The operational laboratories at the Jordan Research and Training Reactor (JRTR) provide essential analytical services that support routine reactor operations, environmental monitoring, and radiation safety.

We receive and analyze a wide range of samples including water, swabs, and environmental materials using precise and accredited methods. Water analyses include measurements of pH, chloride and fluoride concentrations, as well as the isotopic purity of heavy water (D₂O). We also perform radionuclide analyses to quantify alpha-, beta-, and gamma-emitting radionuclides (as applicable) to support radiological safety, operational control, and regulatory compliance.

Our laboratory operations follow strict quality control procedures and are conducted using calibrated

using calibrated instruments by qualified personnel. All activities are carried out in full compliance with the requirements of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC).

These routine analytical services are vital for monitoring reactor conditions, supporting operational decision-making, and protecting both personnel and the environment by delivering accurate and timely results.
