Welcome Message from Dr. Majd Al-Hawari, Director of the Jordan Research and Training Reactor

Welcome to the official website of the Jordan Research and Training Reactor (JRTR), a cornerstone in the infrastructure of nuclear science and technology in Jordan, supporting peaceful and practical applications in research, education, and industry.
Since its inauguration in late 2016, the JRTR has played a vital role in enhancing Jordan's capabilities in nuclear technology. Developed under the supervision of the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission and in line with the national vision for peaceful nuclear development, the reactor supports a wide range of essential functions for scientific growth and technological innovation in the Kingdom.
Located at Jordan University of Science and Technology, the JRTR bridges academic study and practical training. It serves as a national platform for educating and training specialists in reactor operation, nuclear safety, and systems maintenance. At the same time, we offer specialized services to various sectors.
These activities include the production of key medical radioisotopes such as Iodine-131 (I-131) and Holmium-166 (Ho-166). The reactor also provides neutron irradiation services, sample analysis via Neutron Activation Analysis (NAA), and participates in international cooperation in Neutron Transmutation Doping (NTD) and research applications.
We are committed to maintaining high standards of safety, reliability, and performance. As we continue to enhance our capabilities and expand
our services, our goal remains to support scientific advancement in Jordan and contribute to regional expertise in peaceful nuclear technology.
Thank you for visiting our website. We encourage you to explore our programs, services, and collaboration opportunities.
Sincerely,
Dr. Majd Al-Hawari
Director of the Jordan Research and Training Reactor
